About the Authors
This project was supported by a Carnegie Whitney Grant from the American Library Association, awarded in 2022 to Rebecca Parmer and Michael Rodriguez.
The co-authors of the annotated bibliography are Parmer (she/her), Rodriguez (he/him), and research assistant Demetra McBrayer (they/them).
- McBrayer is a doctoral student in English at the University of Delaware.
- Parmer is the library director at the Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library and former head of archives and special collections at the UConn Library.
- Rodriguez is a senior strategist for content and scholarly communication initiatives at Lyrasis and former collections strategist at the UConn Library.
Parmer and Rodriguez conceptualized this project during their leadership of the UConn Library’s IDEA in Collections working group, an initiative of the library’s Strategic Framework. Together, Parmer and Rodriguez developed the grant project, articulated annotation criteria, reviewed content and selections, annotated materials for the bibliography, and developed the project website. McBrayer aggregated the resources for the database and annotated materials for the bibliography.
